M Stiks

I do not love drinking water.  I don't think it tastes good and so if I were thirsty I would turn to juice or soda instead.  I know, I know... I shouldn't even admit that because the amount of sugar in both of those items is awful.  It was that, though, or I would get very dehydrated because I just did not like drinking water.  Since starting to drink M Stiks, I have found that I do not crave soda or sugar at all.  I love that I have found a soda replacement that tastes so good!

When it comes to drinking my M Stiks, I am a stacker.  What does it mean to be a M Stiks stacker?  It means that I have found that my favorite way to drink my M Stiks is by mixing flavors.  I look forward to drinking my M Stiks everyday because they taste great and make me feel great! Here is how I like my M Network M Stiks:
M Stiks

Each morning after breakfast I make myself a Go Stik and Smart Stik Combo to start my day. This gives me sustained, alert energy so I can have a productive morning.  I mix the two sticks with around 20 ounces of water.

M Stiks

Every afternoon I enjoy my CoreAo Stik mixed with my Soul Stik. This makes me feel great and helps my mood so I can get through the whole day. I also drink this combination with around 20 ounces of water.

9 Ways to Be Happier

9 Ways to Be Happier

9 Ways to Be Happier

1. Turn off the Negativity- This might be a book you are reading, TV show you are watching, music you are listening to or a person you are spending too much time with.  If it is making you feel negative or bummed. Turn it off, walk away or spend less time with it! Find things that inspire you and make you feel happier.  Do more of those things.
  2. Help others succeed- It is so true that when we are focusing on helping others we feel happier.  I have seen this again and again.  We need to take the time to BE THERE for each other, serve each other and help each other grow.  If we are always on a path of becoming better with those around us, we will become better ourselves.
  3. Love People- Take time to truly love someone.  Get to know them and see what makes them special.  Increasing the capacity to love others increases the capacity to love yourself.
  4. Surround yourself with people who make you better- If you want to feel better, surround yourself with people that make you feel better!  I heard a funny quote once that said if you look around and see that your 9 closest friends are Losers, you are about to become number 10.  Make sure that your 9 friends are good people that motivate you to be happier.  Surrounding yourself with positive people will help you to feel more positive.
  5. Compliment with words- We all have times when we see someone and a positive thought pops into our head about them.  We often brush that thought out of our mind because it would be to awkward to say something. SAY IT! Everyone wants to hear compliments.  It makes us all feel better.  I remember going to the store and seeing a pregnant girl.  My thought was "she is the cutest pregnant girl in the world." She had the perfect round belly and just looked adorable.  I didn't know her.  But I blurted the worlds out telling her that she looked adorable.  The smile on her face was worth the nervousness I felt saying something.  Never miss an opportunity to make someone else feel good.
  6. Start your day with Positive things-  When you wake up in the morning, don't pick up your phone and start looking at the news.  It won't make you feel good.  Don't go through your facebook feed because there is a good chance you'll find something sad or frustrating on there.  Start each morning with something that makes you feel good.  Start your day exercising, listening to a motivational audio book, or listening to calm positive music.  This will help your start out your day happier and less stressful.
  7.  Every day is a new beginning-  Forget about yesterday and make each day a new day. Yesterday may not have gone the way that you hoped but that was Yesterday.  Today can be awesome.  Isn't that great?  Start each day with a clean slate and decide to have a better, happier day.
  8. Cherish Your Friendships- Honor your friendships because they truly are a blessing.  Thank them often for being your friend.  Spend time with good friends, laugh with friends and truly enjoy your time together.
  9.  Be grateful everyday- Take some time to look around you and see all of the things that you have to be grateful for.  I love my family.  I am so grateful that I have them.  I also have really good neighbors and friends.  My kids started school recently and their teachers are fantastic.  I am so grateful for them.  When you sit down and list all of the things you are grateful for you will realize how much good you have in the world around you.  Be grateful EVERYDAY. It feels good to be happy.  It feels even better to help someone else feel happy.

These 9 Ways to Be Happier can help turn around those down days and remember how blessed we really are as moms! Life is Good.

20 ways to help you keep going when you are feeling down

Here are 20 ways to help you keep going when you are feeling down.

There are some days that downright suck.  Life is hard.  Everything seems to go wrong. Unfortunately, those days can really knock you down and make it hard to get back up again.

20 Ways to Help you Keep Going when you are Feeling Down

Healthy habits

When you are are taking good care of your body, you feel a lot better. These healthy habits include staying hydrated, getting good sleep, eating proper nutrition and getting exercise.

Support groups

You can often find support groups in your area if you look on Meetup.com, facebook groups and websites like craigslist.  There are crafting groups, play date groups, mom groups, etc that you can attend to meet people with hobbies similar to your own.  Support groups are a great way to meet to people, increase your confidence and bring up your spirits.

Quotes

Have you ever just gone to Pinterest or Instagram and searched Quotes?  When I am feeling blue, I love to do this search and often finding beautiful quotes and printables that help me to feel better. One of my favorites is the "Never Let Anyone Dull Your Sparkle" printable from A Sparkle of Genius.

Phone call with a friend

Nothing heals the soul like a phone can with a friend.  Hearing how they are doing and having the opportunity to talk about your day with someone you trust goes a long way.

Family

Kids do a good job and bringing a smile to my face.  Spending the time to read a book with them, play a game or decorate cookies helps to brighten a sad mood.

Bubble bath

This is one of my favorites and one I go-to often.  I love dimming the lights and taking a bubble bath. These are moments that you can just close your eyes, relax and focus only on things that make you happy!

Time out/ Quiet time

Sometimes moms and dads need timeouts, too!  When things get hard, I like to put on a movie for my kids, lock my bedroom door and take 5 minutes just for myself! The quiet room really can be soothing.

Nap

It is SO hard to keep it together when you are tired.  There is nothing wrong with taking a little time for a nap.  Even if you just have enough time for a power nap.  Taking a little snooze can give you more energy and a little boost for the day.

Good cry

Sometimes you just NEED to cry.  We have all been there and NO ONE is judging.  I promise.  Some time life feels so out of control that you really need to ugly cry.  There is so much emotion in a good cry and sometimes letting the emotion out is just what you need to find control to keep going.  I love a good cry.

Favorite movie

Do you have a favorite movie?  I have a few chick flicks on my list that when I am feeling down, I love to watch because they make me laugh and help to brighten my spirits.  Comedies are always fantastic for brightening a day.

Good book

Books are amazing because they take you out of your, what feels like sad world, and takes you on an adventure.  You can go anywhere and be anything with a good book.

Affirmations

This is something that I just learned about recently and I LOVE!  Did you know that you can re-train your brain into positive thinking my speaking affirmations out loud!  You can say things like " I love and approve of myself", "I feel the love of those who are lot physically with me", "I focus on breathing and grounding myself", " I can be happy because I matter."  Say these out loud morning and night to help you feel happier.

Gratitude Journal

At the end of the day, take a moment to look back at the day and see everything you have to be grateful for.  Write these down and when you are feeling sad you can look back and see how much you are blessed with.

Chocolate

Yep, I said it.  Chocolate makes me happy!  :) You can even bake your favorite cookie.  Nothing better than a hot, fresh out of the oven cookie and a glass of milk!

Hobby

What are your hobbies? Do you have to sew, learn photography, paint or write? Think of a hobby you love to do and spend more time doing it.

Music

Ooh, this is one of my favorites. I use music to calm my spirits, daily.  I have Pandora channels that I go to for different moods and music if fantastic in lifting your spirits and bringing joy.  I often listen to music when I am enjoying everything listed above!

Pets

Dogs are called mans best friend for a reason.  We have two dogs and sometimes, playing with your pet or taking them on a walk is just what the doctor ordered.

Serving others

Isn't it amazing that when we take a moment to meet the needs of others, in return, our own needs seem to be met.  There is something special about taking the time to serve others.

Pamper Yourself

How about going to get your hair done or your nails done?  Often when you feel good about yourself, and have more confidence you are happier.

Exercise

Exercise gives you more energy, makes you feel good, helps you lose weight, get in shape, improves your memory, de-stress and more.  There are so many reasons that exercise can take you from blue to NEW HAPPY YOU!
