The amount of water you need to drink every day is dependent on many different things. There is no magic answer of the right number of ounces you need to drink. Each person is different and factors including health, age, weight, active level and where you live need to be considered. Personally, I have found that if I drink enough water, I feel good. If I don't-- I don't! These tips will help you to help you drink more water so you can feel great!
5 Tips to help you drink more water so you can feel great-- Everyday!
1. Find a water bottle that you like.
I love carrying around a water bottle with me. I take it with me everywhere I go because if I have it, I will drink! There are so many styles and sizes so you have to find the one that is perfect for you. Personally, I love the Contigo Jackson Water Bottle because it has a flip top lid and holds 30 ounces. I find that if my water bottle holds more ounces, I will drink more! Two of these a day and I'm at 60 ounces, already!!
2. Add a mix-in.
If you don't LOVE water-- add a mix-in! I really have a hard time drinking straight water, but if I add my favorite mix-in then I can drink enough to feel great everyday! Hydration is so important so if added a mix-in is what you need- then it is important. Personally, I love M Network Stiks because they taste great, keep me hydrated and fill a need! My favorite-- the Go Stik/ Slim Stik Combo and the CoreAO stik/ Soul Stik Combo! Tastes great, makes me feel great and keeps me hydrated all day long.
3. You an app to track your ounces
I am a big fan of the My Fitness Pal app. Not only can I track the amount of food I am eating every day but I can also keep track of how many ounces of water I am drinking. This is fast and easy but keeps you accountable.
4. Keep your water with you
This one is a no-brainer. If you don't keep your water bottle with you, you won't be drinking. If you are sitting at a desk all day for work and do not have your water with you, you will find that you are dehydrated by the end of the work day. Get in the habit of carrying your water bottle with you everywhere you go.
5. Drink a full glass before every meal.
There are so many studies that talk about why this is a good idea, but I'm not going to go into weight loss in this post. If you get into the habit of drinking a full glass of water before every meal you will guarantee that you drink at least 18-24 ounces more in your day. Paired with the tips above and you will feel hydrated and happy all day long.
